What
it means to be Indigo... Our indigo nature is that which helps us maintain our connection to the SOURCE of who we really are. When we connect to this place within our hearts, we are at peace and in love with our selves, others and the world. Yet, living from our hearts is often easier said than done. Our patterns run deep in our reaction to stress, money issues or endless to do lists that leave us feeling overwhelmed (the three I find most commonly activated within myself and others). What we place our attention on grows... As we become aware of our disconnect (experiencing anxiety or anger is a really good indicator), we can reconnect with our indigo, our heart center, often by simply intending it. Through the power of intention, we can heal the split between our ego-driven personality and our Higher Power. For a step by step method that assists you in coming home to your peaceful, loving self, click on Quantum Resources, tools along the way. Becoming Your Own Hero is a book that helped me learn how to become aware of when I've disconnected from my heart, especially when I'm attempting to communicate my needs (unsuccessfully) as a as a parent to my daughter or with my partner. Author Dr. Jordan Paul offers steps to learning how to stay connected to your heart and not compromise your own or your child's integrity even when they are not behaving in the way you would like them to.
Nutritional
Wisdom
Essential Fatty Acids are just that, they are essential to the proper function of every cell in the body. We do not make EFA’s, they need to be supplemented in the diet. EFA’s are oils such as Flax Seed, Borage, and fish oils (EPA and DHA). Flax Seed supplies Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) and Borage supplies Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). It is CRITICAL to get these oils in your diet! Reason: All health and disease start at a cellular level. Meaning that every cell must work properly or disease results. Each cell is surrounded by a phospholipid layer (fat layer) and this keeps the cell membrane soft and pliable so the nutrients can get into the cell and waste products can get out. Without EFA’s the cell membrane becomes hard like a plastic bag and does not receive nutrients. Cells then begin to die faster than they are made and degeneration takes place creating disease. Ever hear that fish is brain food? That’s because it contains these EFA’s. Your brain is actually made up of 60% fat. Without the proper fats in your diet, your brain doesn’t work right. This results in poor memory, mood fluctuations, attention deficit disorders, depression, etc. EFA’s are also critical for your body to manufacture the master hormones, which in turn make all the rest of the hormones in your body in the correct ratios. If you don’t have proper fats in your diet, your body will not be able to make the proper hormones. These are not just the gender-related hormones, but this includes thyroid, pituitary, insulin, and water regulation hormones in your kidneys. When hormones become unbalanced this causes a cascade of negative events in the body, which lead to multiple symptoms and distress. Essential
fatty acids are found naturally in
oily fish such as mackeral, salmon, tuna and sardines,
as well as linseed and soya oils.
Leafy green vegetables also provide a good source
as do Omega 3 eggs. If yours or your child's diet
doesn't consist of these foods on a regular basis,
it is best to supplement. Dr. RaShel Katzler, Ph.D., MsD is a doctor of Natural Medicine with an emphasis in psychology and metaphysics.
